 New
York City. Christmastime. Jewel heist.
Having meticulously planned and successfully executed large jewel thefts in
Antwerp, Mumbai and Perth, master criminal Christo carefully assembles a crew of
New York ex-cons for a new heist. A zealot who’s god favors those with guns and
greed, Christo preaches in favor of narcissism as the one true human virtue. The
crew quickly grasps his ruthless cunning, wondering if he will pay off, rip off
or simply murder them all. A cool two million keeps each of the crew in lockstep
with Christo’s instructions, but with insurance plans of their own.
Reassigned to International Relations due to his indiscretions,
NYPD’s Detective Finn is dispatched to assist Interpol investigator Daniella
Vella as she tracks down Christo. Finn’s job has never required him to do
anything but spread his charm and attend meetings. Yet he finds Dan’s fervor and
personality infectious, and begins to become a resourceful detective like his
father. Unbeknownst to him, Dan has a ominous, tangled past with Christo that
results in a dark and lethal gambit.

to reading more of it at every opportunity. You know when you start the book
that there is a jewel heist in New York City. Before and after the heist is
really the story, so well developed and fun to read. I always enjoy the author’s
unexpected twists and turns and appreciate that he doesn’t cause the reader
emotional trauma. Not to say there isn’t any in the characters, but the reader
isn’t caused to experience the trauma in their emotions. I’ve enjoyed the
Linsenbigler books as fun light comical thrillers, but the Planner is much
deeper and impactful. Looking forward to the next one."
"Detective Finn is a great main character! I appreciate that Finn isn’t the
stereotypical alcoholic detective who is spiraling out of control until a case
motivates him into sobriety (as can be a common trope in crime/detective
thrillers). Instead, Finn’s emotional journey from apathetic playboy to invested
detective feels believable and compelling."

love, loved it! And I was surprised by the twists and revelations. Really fun!"

However, I thought the author did a fantastic job fleshing out the uniqueness of
